In the city center there is a beautiful waterfront, one of the most daring architectural projects, designed by Ruy Ohtake, with a bike path, playground, exercise equipment, bathrooms, showers, in addition to landscaping.
We also have Fort São João,
the first fort (the oldest) to be built in Brazil, located at the southern tip of Bertioga, next to the canal and close to the ferry. Built in 1532, it has been considered Brazilian historical and cultural heritage since 1940. It has several historical artifacts inside, such as a replica of medieval armor. It's worth a visit to learn a little about the history of our Brazil.
Fort São João is located in Parque dos Tupiniquins (Avenida Vicente de Carvalho, s/no, Centro). Visitation in January takes place from Wednesday to Friday and Sunday, from 9am to 9pm; and Saturdays from 9am to 10pm. Entry is free.
